Lost Alias: The Ghosts in the Collection
Lost Alias — the 35 striking black-and-white artworks that best capture the journey of the Alias Collection from a traditional gallery to the blockchain. These pieces hold a unique place in the collection’s narrative, replace the original portraits sold to private collectors in Colombia and the U.S. through the Steve Turner Gallery in Los Angeles. Their sale occurred before Camilo made the decision to offer the collection exclusively as NFTs. To preserve the collection’s integrity, the artist recreated these artworks in monochrome, representing them as ghostly echoes of the originals—a visual metaphor for the artworks that slipped away. Each Lost Alias represented as black silhouettes of the originals serves as a symbol of the collection’s digital rebirth and carries a special tag in their metadata. While 35 of the physical artworks remain with collectors, Camilo retains the remaining originals for future global exhibitions, ensuring Alias exists both in galleries and the digital realm.
